What do I want to capture today ?

This post is about something that I wanted to do for many a days !!!.. I want to give myself a project .. and if I have to do it .. why not put the output in a blog !!! . So !! I have decided that this particular thread I'll post 7 pictures (one for every day of the week ) every weekend for 4 weeks .I'll use the pictures clicked using my film camera . I use Pentax K1000 and my Sony Alpha 100  . I'll restrict it to Portraits  and Life .
Gear :
 Pentax k 1000 ; Sony A100 Kodak Roll: 400 ISO . and two lenses 50mm 1.4 Pentax M and 135mm F2.8 Sears .and A to P/k Adaptor.

Location : In and around my home.

1. Papa sitting in Drawing room ( a Day after japan quake ) . White background of wall and Room Cooler are over exposed to render any detail whatsoever). Pentax k1000 , Sears 135mm F2.8 .

2. Mishu ( Kid next Door ) . His mom had brought him out and my dad was talking to the kid from our balcony . clicked him using my Sony A100 and 135mm F2.8 Sears .

Super - Takumar 500mm F4.5 Manual Lens- Is it any good !

With my impulsive buying getting better of me , i recently won on ebay  a super- takumar 500mm f4..5 manual beast of a lens. Initially i was cursing myself to the core , why on earth did i even  bid on the same? Post winning i browsed through eBay and found the price points of the same lens in other bids was significantly higher ( at least some respite ) . I paid for the same and waited for lens to arrive. All of my search on the lens and on images clicked using that did not help me much. I got more pictures on web of the lens itself instead of pictures clicked using it . Smooth Trans Focus (STF) Mode - A test shot using Minolta Dynax 7 .

STF Mode test shot using Dynax 7 . , a photo by arnavkhorana on Flickr. Minolta Dynax/Maxxum  7 's unique feature of  Smooth trans focus (STF) effect certainly gives amazing bokeh and a "POP UP " effect . 7 shots at varying apertures are taken on single frame.. so tripod is must and object should be stationary . Use a tripod , keep the object stationary .. in case you are working with a model you might need to ensure that he/she does not  even bat an eyelid. As the 7 shots can take considerable amount of time ( in a second or so ) humans may sway a little  resulting in motion blur . This latency limits the use of this feature a little but having said that the effect is truly worth trying !!! and  .. if the background is at certain distance .. the "3D or Pop up " effect is more profound .  I haven't used the Sony 135mm STF Lens , so cant compare the effect of dynax/maxxum 7 and the one produced by th specialized lens.
