Diwali always brings happiness around you and the hustle and bustle in towns and cities across India is worth capturing . Though I didn't have any plans to do some street photography , I took my Minolta dynax 9 around when my wife asked me to accompany her for some last minute shopping for the Laxmi pujan . For the uninitiated Goddess laxmi is offered prayers on the Diwali day to bring prosperity . Here are some of the photos I clicked as we rushed through the shops located nearby !!
As aashi ( My year and a half old daughter ) stood mesmerized looking at so many things that interested her ( read: colorful and breakable ) , I noticed her image in this decorative mirror . I positioned myself to frame her within this looking glass and she fortunately cooperated for that second.
These hanging guns in one shop reminded of how I pestered my father to buy me crackers on Diwali .. Times have certainly changed now , with environment taking center stage , cracker sales is definitely not what it used to be .
